About This Site
Sunday Assembly Minneapolis/St Paul (MSP) was a local chapter of The Sunday Assembly, an organization started in London by Sanderson Jones and Pippa Evans in 2013. The chapter began formally holding events on June 8, 2014, and was dissolved on September 1, 2019. This site serves as the official archive and document of record for the activities of Sunday Assembly MSP, from its initial formation meetings in January 2014 to its dissolution.
The content on this site was taken from the chapter’s social media pages—Facebook, Meetup, and Twitter—as well as internal documentation produced by the board and other production teams that will help to tell the story of Sunday Assembly MSP and the community that sprang up around it.
About Sunday Assembly
The founders of Sunday Assembly describe it as “like church but totally secular and inclusive of all”. One of their chief goals was to help build communities “where people sing songs [and] hear inspiring talks… in a family-friendly and inclusive setting.” They summarized this in Sunday Assembly’s motto: Live Better, Help Often, and Wonder More.
As of December 2019, there were 36 active Assemblies in Europe, Australia and New Zealand, and the United States.
